Your business data and our insights
Strategic Planning Services
Financial planning and analysis insights for your company through budgeting, forecasting, data analysis, and financial modeling.
Budgets and Forecasts
A budget is only useful if it reflects how the business actually earns and spends. Guide Accounting builds annual and quarterly budgets from operating assumptions — revenue drivers, staffing plans, capital needs, and seasonality — rather than escalating last year's figures. We then maintain the forecast through the year, updating it as conditions change so it remains a working tool rather than a document filed in January and ignored by March.
Cash Flow Projections
Profitable businesses run out of cash regularly; the two are not the same thing. Guide Accounting builds multi-month cash flow projections that model timing — collections, payables, debt service, payroll cycles, and capital expenditures — to show where liquidity tightens before it does. We model alternative scenarios as well: a slow season, a significant hire, an equipment purchase, or a delayed receivable, so the financial consequence of a decision is visible before it is made.
Financial Modeling & Data Analysis
Some decisions justify more than judgment alone. Guide Accounting builds financial models to evaluate specific questions — a pricing change, a new location, a major hire, or a service line's true profitability — and analyzes the underlying data to support them. We deliver the analysis with assumptions made explicit, so the reasoning can be tested rather than simply accepted.
Quality of Earnings Analysis
Reported earnings and the earnings a buyer or lender will credit are rarely identical. A quality of earnings analysis normalizes results — removing one-time expenses, non-recurring revenue, owner compensation adjustments, and related-party transactions — to establish sustainable EBITDA. Guide Accounting performs this analysis proactively, well ahead of a sale or financing event, so owners understand their defensible number and have time to address what depresses it. We know what a buyer's diligence team looks for, having sold a multi-entity business at the highest multiple the acquirer had ever paid.
Strategic Planning Facilitation
Most organizations have a direction in mind but no financial plan connecting present conditions to it. Guide Accounting facilitates the strategic planning process — clarifying objectives, testing them against financial capacity, and translating them into a multi-year plan with defined milestones and measures. We then build the budget and forecast that make the plan operational, so strategy is enforced by the numbers rather than kept separate from them.
